This was a bronze statue to honor fallen firemen. It was commissoned by a fire dept. in another state, and was being transported to them when 9/11 happened. The statue ended up staying in New York City at that time, and became one of many impromptu memorials that sprang up all over the city then. This photo was taken less than 2-1/2 weeks after the attacks on the World Trade Center towers. We were able to be there and witness with our own eyes, this tragic time in America's history. I'll be forever grateful for that. And will always help me "remember 9/11"God Bless America!
